Fix-PC was founded in 2004 by David Goonery after many years working in IT for the NHS. What began as a passion for technology quickly became a business built around a simple goal: helping growing organisations use IT without the stress, confusion, or disruption that often comes with it.
Over the years, David saw the same challenges appear time and time again. Businesses would grow, systems would become more complex, and suddenly IT was no longer something that “just worked”. Directors and office managers found themselves dealing with downtime, security worries, and software that didn’t always play nicely together often on top of their main roles. Fix-PC was created to take that burden away.
Today, David leads a close-knit team of experienced engineers who care just as much about people as they do about technology. We specialise in supporting small and medium-sized businesses across Lanarkshire, Glasgow, and Lothian particularly those that have outgrown DIY IT but don’t want the cost or complexity of a full in-house IT department.
For many of our clients, we become their IT department. We look after day-to-day support while also managing Microsoft 365, cloud services, cyber security, backup, disaster recovery, and long-term IT planning. Our role is simple: keep your systems reliable, your data protected, and your staff productive, so you can focus on running your business.
We take a proactive approach to IT. Rather than waiting for problems to appear, we monitor systems in the background, fix issues early, and help clients move away from firefighting toward forward planning. This leads to fewer interruptions, more predictable costs, and technology that supports growth instead of holding it back.
Security and resilience sit at the heart of everything we do. Many businesses rely heavily on Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms, yet don’t always have proper backup or disaster recovery in place. Our Microsoft-certified engineers design secure, recoverable systems that help protect against threats such as ransomware and phishing, while also supporting compliance requirements like Cyber Essentials.
Just as importantly, we believe IT shouldn’t be confusing. Our clients value that we speak in plain English. If something goes wrong, we explain what’s happened, why it matters, and how we’re fixing it without jargon or technical waffle. We build long-term relationships based on trust, reliability, and clear communication, acting as a trusted advisor rather than simply a support desk.
